Special Full Iron Fertilizer for intensively cultivated plant tanks
These include strong light and very densely planted tanks. Developed by Hans-Georg Kramer.
The aquatic plant specialist and author Hans-Georg Kramer experimented for many years to develop a fertilizer that shows its special qualities in well-planted aquaria, especially if these are also well-lit.
The use of four different chelators in a special proportion and an extremely wide range of trace elements, including so-called “beneficial elements”, helps to cultivate even the most demanding plants.
First of all, determine the effective amount of water in your Aquarium by subtracting the volume of the substrate, internal filter and large-volume decorative objects. The easiest way to do this is with a metre rule or tape measure.
Then determine the lighting factor by calculating the total illuminance of your lighting in lumens and dividing it by the net volume of your aquarium.
Up to an actual water height of approx. 40 cm, you can multiply the wattage of T5 fluorescent lamps and metal halide lamps by a factor of 1.2 to take account of their higher luminance and thus depth effect.
The lighting factor calculated only applies when using high-quality reflectors, without which only approx. 50 % of the light in the aquaria is available. The luminaire should be optimally ventilated, as the luminous efficacy of the lamps decreases at higher temperatures.
LED lamps are included in the calculation with the full amount of light, as they have a highly directional light due to their principle.
- For medium lighting factors of about 30 Lumen/l you will require approx. 10 ml / Week / 100 l Water of KramerDrak.
- For strong light aquaria from 40 Lumen/l upwards we recommend approx. 12 ml / Week / 100 l Water of KramerDrak.
- More than 15 ml / Week / 100 l Water of KramerDrak will not bring about any further improvements.
The luminous efficacy of a fluorescent or metal halide lamp with electronic ballast is roughly 70 - 90 lumen/watt. This allows the above data to be converted accordingly for older lighting.
