Grotech optical precision refractometer (ATC)

A refractometer is a precision optical instrument for the exact determination of the optical density or refractive index of a liquid.
As the refractive index of salt water is directly dependent on the salt concentration of the solution, a refractometer is therefore ideally suited for quick and above all exact measurement of the salt concentration in marine aquariums.
With just a few drops of water, the salt concentration is determined within seconds. It can be read off either as absolute salt content (salinity) in per mill (‰, ppt) or as relative density (kg/l compared to water at 20 °C).
A refractometer is always much more accurate and mechanically much less sensitive than an aerometer.
