Tropical Almond Bark

The effect is similar to but much stronger than tropical almond leaves. In addition, the bark pieces, which are a similar shape to cinnamon sticks (and also produced in a similar way), are very attractive and can be left in the tank after the main effect has worn off.

Dozens of people in Sri Lanka now make a living from harvesting and processing this high quality natural product. For aquarium owners, especially for friends of invertebrates, the tropical almond bark is an effective highlight in the aquarium. Compared with tropical almond leaves and other natural products containing tannins, the bark has additional properties:
The bark is relatively heavy and sinks after a short timed, rots extremely slowly and has a more intensive effect.
For prawns, snails and small fish, the bark not only effectively protects mucous membranes against bacteria but protects also offers the creatures opportunities to hide and withdraw.

Application

Please apply 1 - 2 pieces of the aquamax Tropical Almond Bark per 100 l or 20 l (nano bark) aquarium water. We recommend rinsing the Tropical Almond Bark briefly with hot water before use. If you require a stronger effect, please place the pieces in your aquarium without rinsing. We recommend watering for a few hours up to one day if you require a weaker effect.

After a few hours the bark sinks to the bottom of the aquarium. A possible initial slight clouding of the water is natural and harmless. This disappears after a short time.

If you use further products containing tannins such as Tropical Almond Leaves (Terminalia catappa), please keep this in mind when dispensing.

After about 3 weeks, the active substances have been released. You can replace the bark now. The used bark can also remain in the aquarium permanently.

The Tropical Almond Bark can also be used for water preparation to avoid fluctuation of the tannin concentration due to water changes.
