Full Iron Fertilizer

Area of Application

Ferrdrakon serves as a standard full iron fertilizer and delivers the basic supply of iron and trace elements required for every standard pool containing plants, without any further special characteristics.

Trickle filter, UV water purifier, extremely strong lighting, very thick planting and consequential very strong plant growth can be the cause of the increased need or consumption of certain nutrients. In this case the basic nutrient supply should be complimented by using a special fertilizer like Daydrakon or Ferrdrakon K.

Pharmaceutical Form

Ready solution - Powder mixture

The two pharmaceutical forms offered differ in their composition only very slightly. The prescribed amount of fertilizer material and trace elements are in both preparations present to almost exactly the same extent.

The powder mixture must first be dissolved in the defined amount of water (see directions). The solution form is, in comparison, available for immediate use.

Dosage

10 ml of solution per 100 l of aquarium water every week (± 50 % according to plant growth) together with a minimum of 25 % of the water being exchanged every 2 weeks.

It is also an advantage to apply a daily dosage of 1/7 of this calculated total amount.

It is best to start with an absolute minimum dosage and to slowly increase it. When giving the dosage in this manner, carefully observe the effect it is having: When no improvement in growth is observed and/or problems start with algae growth, you must reduce the dosage immediately.

A pre-requisite for this is that a minimum of 25% of the water is exchanged every 2 weeks. Of course a greater exchange of water does no harm, rather is quite a sensible move. In this connection may we remind you of the old proverb: “The best filter is the bucket of water belonging to the aquarium keeper!”.

Optimal Iron Content: 0.05 - 0.1 mg/l

Storage Life

• Solution: Store in a dark cool place (the metal chelate complexes are sensitive to UV light) - Minimum storage life 2 years.
• Powder mixture: Store in a dark and dry place (avoid humidity) - the storage time is practically speaking almost unlimited.

The solution that is delivered normally has a light yellow to dark brown colour. After the entry of air, some time later, it can cause the colour to change to dark brown or eventually green-black, but it always remains clear. The effectiveness of the fertilizer is however not affected in any way by this colour change process.

In order to avoid the possibility of befall of the mixture with either fungus or bacteria a harmless and well tolerated conservation agent has been added (methyl paraben).
